American Clothing Brand

Graphic Designer | Westwood, MA / Hybrid

May 2021 - November 2023

Joining in May 2021, I started on a visual adventure working with the storied American clothing brand. I took on the challenge of designing visual communications for a brand that was refreshing its image and propelling it back onto the national stage.

As a Graphic Designer within the Marketing Design team, I worked on shaping '47’s visual identity across multiple channels. From the website to social media, and from printed seasonal catalogs to email campaigns, every design decision contributed to the brand's resurgence. I helped to onboard other designers to adhere to the developing brand aesthetic. I enjoyed contributing to the brand's evolution. Working along-side other talented designers and a well-versed copywriter made the work more fun.

I found that it was important for me to work in a talented environment. It helped me to understand the value of learning from others and how crucial it is to ask for help. Building relationships with other members of my team as well as my boss is something that was important for my career growth. The work was a true collaborative effort and my wins were really team wins.

Working within a company, especially one so vibrant in the Boston sports scene, added an extra layer of excitement to my role. Transitioning from a fan of the brand to a member of the team felt like a natural progression, allowing me to forge a deeper bond with the brand's ethos and values. I was excited to play a small part in a national sports conversation through different campaigns and collaborations with outside brands and designers. 

A highlight of my time at '47 was the opportunity to learn the art direction process and assist during photoshoots for various campaigns. Collaborating with internal and external teams to bring our marketing campaigns to life was both fun and educational. It definitely felt like a crew of hard-working creatives putting our heads together to get a project done.  From conceptualization to execution, I gained insight into the inner workings of brand promotion and the attention to detail required to achieve success in a competitive market.
