Dome at Woods Hole
Brand Identity & Marketing Collateral
Building a visual identity for a historic geodesic dome reimagined as a cultural landmark
Year:
2018
Responsibilities:
Graphic Designer Photographer
Overview:
The Dome at Woods Hole is a historic geodesic structure designed by visionary architect Buckminster Fuller in 1953. After decades out of use, the nonprofit organization behind its revival set out to transform it into a vibrant arts and cultural center blending art, technology, and science.
Challenge:
The Dome needed more than just a logo. It needed a full visual identity and narrative that could generate community enthusiasm, support fundraising efforts, and communicate the excitement of bringing such an iconic structure back to life in the seaside village of Woods Hole.
Solution:
Working as a Graphic Designer and Photographer during the spring and summer of 2018, I developed a brand identity, logo, print collateral, social content, and exhibition panels to help tell the Dome's story and rally the community around its revival. The logo became a symbol of the Dome's resurgence and a centerpiece of fundraising efforts. Building a strong relationship with the client through open dialogue and iterative feedback made the creative process smoother and resulted in a cohesive visual presence across every touchpoint.
