Crooked Coast

Brand Identity & Creative Content

Translating the coastal energy of an indie band into visuals that resonate with fans all over the north east and beyond

Year:

2018 -

Responsibilities:

Freelance Graphic Designer

Photographer

Overview:

Crooked Coast is an indie band with a sound rooted in good vibes, coastal energy, and feel-good music. With a growing fan base and an authentic creative spirit, the band needed visual content that matched the personality and warmth of their music.

Challenge:

Translating a band's musical identity into compelling visual content requires more than just design skills. It requires genuine collaboration, an openness to creative dialogue, and a willingness to listen before putting pen to paper or cursor to canvas.

Solution:

Working as their Freelance Graphic Designer and Photographer, I collaborated with Crooked Coast across a range of creative touchpoints including an enhanced music video animation for their song "Go Slow," promotional social media content, and poster design. The key to making the work land was building an open dialogue with the band early on. That openness created a natural sounding board where ideas could flow freely and the final work genuinely resonated with their fans. It was a great reminder that the best creative outcomes come from real conversation and mutual trust between collaborators.
